Privacy Policy

The short version: SnapDeck HQ is built to run on your device. We do not collect personal data, do not sell anything about you, and do not track your usage. The only time data leaves your Mac is when you explicitly ask for an AI action or web search.

1. Information We Collect

SnapDeck HQ does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Specifically:

We do not collect your name, email, or account details.
We do not track which commands you run or how often you use the app.
We do not log clipboard contents, file names, or screen activity.
We do not use analytics SDKs or advertising frameworks.

2. On-Device Processing

All core features — app launching, file actions, clipboard transformations, and command search — run entirely on your Mac. No data is sent to any server for these operations.

3. AI Features Pro

When you choose to run an AI-powered action (such as Summarize or Rewrite), the selected text is sent to the AI provider you have configured in Settings. This transmission occurs only on explicit user action, never automatically.

Please review the privacy policy of your chosen AI provider for details on how they handle submitted text.

4. Web Search

Triggering a web search opens your default browser with the search query. SnapDeck HQ itself does not log or store these queries. Your browser and chosen search engine handle the request according to their own privacy policies.

5. macOS Permissions

SnapDeck HQ may request the following macOS permissions:

Accessibility — used to detect the active app so context-aware commands can be offered. No screen content is read.
Files and Folders — used only when you run a file action on a file you have selected. SnapDeck HQ does not scan your file system without your input.
Pasteboard (Clipboard) — accessed only when you trigger a clipboard command, never in the background.

All permissions are used solely to power the features you actively invoke. They are never used to collect data in the background.

6. Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. SnapDeck HQ never processes or receives your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase transactions.

7. Children's Privacy

SnapDeck HQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
